Tween girls brand Spacepop scores licensing deals

Additional licensing partners have been secured for Genius Brands International’s (GBI) new music- and fashion-oriented tween girl brand Spacepop, which is set to debut in the form of animated digital  shorts and a middle grade book series this summer.

Jaya Apparel Group will develop a complete collection of Spacepop-inspired fashion apparel for girls to include tops, bottoms, fashion tees, jackets and leggings.

Meanwhile, H.E.R. Accessories will create a line of branded jewelry, hair accessories, watches and other fashion-forward accouterments for girls.

Both lines are scheduled to debut at retail outlets in fall 2016 through both specialty and mid-tier retail outlets.

Featuring original music produced by Ron Fair (Fergie, Mary J. Blige, Black Eyed Peas) and stories developed by head writer Steve Banks (SpongeBob SquarePants), Spacepop is comprised of more than one hundred animated music videos that will be digitally distributed to align with tweens’ mobile-driven habits. To support the brand’s digital launch, GBI is creating a comprehensive, fashion-driven line of consumer products featuring the designs of Han Lee’s HLL Design fashion studio. HLL Design is the creator and lead designer for the monkey-inspired Bobby Jack fashion brand, which has generated US$450 million at retail.
